Quality Assurance
The Malta Tourism Authority quality assurance initiatives are designed at recognising good standards undertaken by tourism service providers and/or individual workers in the tourism industry. Some of these voluntary initiatives are:
Eco-Certification: is an audit covering environmental criteria in tourism accommodation establishments. Tourism accommodation establishments interested in the Eco-Certification scheme must be ready to commit themselves to a process of continuous improvement in order to reduce their impact on the environment.
STAR Awards: are annual tourism awards aimed at recognising both people that excel in the service and hospitality they provide and good quality products that offer an excellent experience.
Quality Service Audit: The Quality Service Audit (QSA) recognises and promotes quality service in all hotel categories.
Quality Seal for DMCs: The Quality Seal for DMCs (Destination Management Companies) officially recognises companies that operate in the MICE (Meeting. Incentives, Conferences and Events) sector that are commited to high levels of quality, consistency and professionalism.
